The Tories knew they would lose and were just following the script.
Conservative Edward Heath took Britain into the Common Market.It could just have easily have been a Labour PM - no difference.
The Tory "effort" was an attempt by the Establishment to "show" we live in "democracy". Lets not forget Thatcher was stabbed in the back by her own party because of her Euro Scepticism. Later on of course in 2001 we had the Establishment trying to get at Tory Euro Sceptic Ian Duncan Smith (via Edgar Griffin) to try and get Bilderberger Kenneth Clarke elected as Conservative leader.
Not a very well done or helpful post. Was it out of laziness that Tartarus did not give excerpts along with his links ?
