Money worries – firms have sought thousands of pounds for past services rendered. Organisational worries – so many of his former disciples now yearn to see the back of him. So it's pleasing to be able to lift his spirits a bit. For we have seen that list of his members and national organisers, the most recent leak arising from the civil war within his party. But we don't plan to do anything with it. Still, it's jolly interesting

BNP membership list appears on Wikileaks

List of thousands of names of BNP members, along with addresses and phone numbers, published on Wikileaks

Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, is due to appear on Question Time on Thursday.

A detailed membership list of the British National party containing names, addresses and telephone numbers was published on the internet this morning.

The list, which contains thousands of names, was published on Wikileaks, a website that purports to be a clearing house for information to be published anonymously.

A Guardian analysis of the data suggests the BNP had 11,560 members as of April this year, including one peer and several doctors and military personnel. The party appears to have benefited from a surge in female recruits, with one in eight party members now women.

The list reveals that the highest concentrations of members are in Leicestershire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, while membership is growing fastest in places such as Wiltshire and East Sussex, outside the party's traditional heartlands.

Wikileaks said this morning: "The lists have been verified to be accurate in all cases examined by Wikileaks, however it should not be assumed that every person with a BNP membership number is a current member of the BNP."

The party's leader, Nick Griffin, said he could neither confirm nor deny that the list was up to date.

"The allegation is that it is complete as of April this year," he said. "We have no way of knowing that as yet, but it might be possible that the new list is a concoction of the old leaked list combined with inquiries up until April. As everyone knows, inquiries are often made out of curiosity or even hostility, and cannot be taken as an indication of membership or support."

He said the leak was part of a "hysterical media-driven anti-British National party campaign which is growing in intensity as the party threatens the corruption and treason of the old Westminster parties".

The BNP's leadership was alerted to the leak yesterday and said it appeared to have been timed to undermine the party ahead of the appearance of its leader, Nick Griffin, on Question Time on Thursday.

In November 2008, a list of members' names, contact details and in some cases jobs and hobbies was leaked by disgruntled members said to have become frustrated that the party had become too soft under Griffin.

In December 2006, an undercover investigation by the Guardian revealed that the organisation's members included Simone Clarke, then a ballerina for the English National Ballet.

Ex-BNP man fined over 'names' blog

A former member of the British National Party has been fined £200 after he admitted releasing membership details online.
Matthew Single, 37, formerly of Brinsley, Nottinghamshire, admitted disclosing the names, addresses and occupations of some 12,000 members in a blog on the internet.
The charges were dropped against his wife, Sadie Graham-Single.
Graham-Single, 30, a recruitment consultant who has one 14-month-old child with her husband and is expecting twins, was not at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.
District Judge John Stobart also ordered Single to pay £100 towards the cost of the prosecution.
The judge added: "It came as a surprise to me, as it will to many members of the party, that to do something as foolish and as criminally dangerous as you did will only incur a financial penalty. It comes as no surprise to me that somebody to do with an organisation that prides itself on Britishness is in fact living off the British people on Job Seeker's Allowance and that is why the fine is so low as to be ridiculous."
Single, an unemployed engineer, was accused last November of leaking the BNP's membership list in an online blog. It contained the names, addresses and contact details of some 12,000 party members. Among those names were current and former servicemen, teachers, doctors and a police officer.
Wife Graham-Single was also accused at the time but the charges against her were dropped. The court heard that the couple had relocated to the south of England and the judge upheld an order preventing their new address being released.
BNP spokesman John Walker said some of the party's members were now considering civil cases against Single and his wife. Mr Walker added: "There have been some real victims in this case. People had their homes attacked and some people have lost their jobs."
It is understood the maximum sentence Single could have received would have been a £5,000 fine.

Man and woman charged with BNP membership leak

A man and a woman have been charged under the Data Protection Act after a British National Party membership list was leaked onto the internet, police said today.


Dyfed-Powys Police said the man, aged 27, and woman, aged 30, were due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on 1 September.


The woman is understood to be Sadie Graham, who was expelled from the far-right party in late 2007 after falling out with its leadership.

The BNP called for a police investigation last November after the names, addresses and contact details of some 10,000 of its members were published online.


Party leader Nick Griffin lodged a complaint with Dyfed-Powys, his local force, on the grounds that publishing the list breached human rights and data protection laws.

He described the publication as "a disgraceful act of treachery" by former BNP staff members who were subsequently sacked.

At the time the BNP said the leak was based on its 2007 membership list, although a number of names of people who were not members had been added.

The list, which included details of some members' jobs, was reported to include serving and former police officers as well as members of the armed forces.

In a statement, Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We can confirm that the two people arrested as part of a joint investigation with Dyfed-Powys Police and the Information Commissioner's Office in relation to alleged criminal offences under the Data Protection Act have been charged with Section 55 Data Protection Act offences.

"They will appear in Nottingham Magistrates Court on 1 September.

"The arrests followed an investigation into a complaint received about the unauthorised release of the BNP party membership list."

An interesting article from the NY Times and whispers emanating from ex and current BNP members would suggest he has.


The party list was easily obtained at another site that revels in publishing secrets online, cryptome.org. The man who operates cryptome.org, John Young, wrote that as of Thursday, he had 2,000 to 3,000 downloads of the party list file. Asked if he had any limits on what personal material he would publish, Mr. Young wrote that his site focused on addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers “of public, mostly government, figures, and spies especially” — but usually not Social Security numbers.
Mr. Young argued that organizations like the British National Party often leak such material to get sympathy and show that their membership is full of regular people.
“I would guess the B.N.P. leak at 80 percent orchestrated,” he wrote. “The Brits are experts at this, perhaps the best.”
And true to that theory, the leader of the party, Nick Griffin, was quoted as saying that one good thing from the list’s being leaked was that it proved that the stereotype of his supporter as “a skinhead oik” was not true.

"The timing and actual aim of this leak story is blatant: It was set running on Sunday evening, when the clique who co-ordinate virtually all anti-BNP campaigns would have been confident that the following day’s kangaroo court at the General Teaching Council would take away from Adam Walker his right to teach.

Had that been the result, the verdict would have been a big news story, which would have set things up perfectly for the follow-up publicity storm about thousands of BNP members being ‘exposed’ which would have broken over the rest of the week. Without a single person on the leaked list being persecuted purely for their views (because to do so is illegal), the public would have been left with the impression that the two stories were connected and that all of them would be hounded out like Adam was supposed to be on Monday."

No, it wasn't set running on Sunday. Look at the blog, it took 6 whole days for whoever it was to upload the data, and the blog URL was not handed out untill 9pm Monday night. Long after Walker had gone home from the Kangaroo Court.

Griffin is grasping at straws because the rebels are about to put him back in court for his disgraceful behaviour. The court case could cost the BNP a fortune, and by pointing the finger at the rebels, Griffin, is covering his back.

We are being told that, John Walker (ALLEGEDLY), ex BNP treasurer, has uploaded the full 2008 list online. NWN can confirm the list is real after being contacted by members who are on the list.

If Griffin cannot keep the memberships secure he should resign.

The last entry on the membership list is, Sept 2008. John Walker, was sacked from his position as, BNP treasurer in, Sept 2008.
