We heard he was last living in the Hollingworth lake area of Rochdale.

I'm pretty certain I was.
I was definately at a meeting at Rochdale Town Hall, if there were two, it might have been that other one, I got around a lot in those days!
I recognised a lot of the Mancs lads in the photo of the lads coming up the road.
I recall that a number of the Reds went into an Ashton pub later that night where we went drinking (Prince of Orange) to cause trouble, Including JOHN CHAPMAN PEARSON (still active in the CPGB) and JOHN TUMMON, now something in Oldham "community relations".

There was only the one for the 1979 GE at Rochdale Town Hall.
They had to close the whole of the town centre after the meeting as the asians/reds started to riot including smashing some of the 'listed town hall' windows.
We went up to the 'roundhouse' in Litteborough after and had a pint whilst watching the silly marxists creating mayhem. Angela Rippon read it out, as it was the main BBC story of that night.
