Jury out in Rochdale sex grooming gang trial
May 01, 2012 |
A jury has been sent out to consider its verdicts on 11 men who are accused of being part of a child exploitation ring.
Judge Gerald Clifton sent out the nine women and three men sitting on the jury at a trial at Liverpool Crown Court at 11.35am today.
The 11 defendants, from Rochdale and Oldham, deny a series of sex offences, including conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.
The Crown say the men plied girls as young as 13 with alcohol before raping or sexually assaulting them and 'sharing' them with other men across the north of England.
