BNP win seats in Yorkshire & North West!

SKY News has just reported that Andrew Brons has been elected. Has has Nick Griffin.

BNP wins European Parliament seat

The BNP has won its first MEP in what is shaping up to be an historic defeat for Labour in the European elections.

Health Secretary Andy Burnham said the BNP win was a "sad moment". The BNP candidate said it was the "first step to freedom" from EU "dictatorship".

Labour could be on course to dip below 20% of the vote in what Harriet Harman has called a "very dismal" night.

The party lost a whopping 12% in Wales, which saw it lose there for the first time since 1918.

The BNP won its first MEP after gaining more than 120,000 votes in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Earlier, protesters briefly stopped BNP leader Nick Griffin from entering the building in Manchester where results of European elections are being announced.

'Misrepresentation'
The BNP won more than 120,139 votes in the Yorkshire region, slightly less than in 2004, but enough to take one of the six seats on offer in the region.

Successful candidate Andrew Brons, a retired university lecturer, acknowledged that his victory would not be "universally popular".

Despite the lies, money and misrepresentation, we have managed to win through
Andrew Brons, BNP

He said the party, which is accused by its opponents of stirring racial hatred, something it denies, had survived an "onslaught" by the media and the political classes during the campaign.

"Despite the lies, money and misrepresentation, we have managed to win through," he said.

The election was the "first step" towards the UK removing itself from the "EU dictatorship", he added.

The BNP also hopes to win a seat in the North West region, where its leader Nick Griffin is standing.

But as he arrived at the count on Sunday, his car was surrounded by noisy protesters and it drove off without him getting out.

Protests
Mr Griffin later entered the building through the back entrance.

The BNP leader was accompanied by a number of minders.

There is a substantial police presence outside Manchester Town Hall, where the votes for the region are being counted.

Police said one man was arrested in scuffles when Mr Griffin tried to get into the building through the front entrance and his car was surrounded by a small crowd of noisy protesters.

"Mr Griffin has been driven away to avoid the protests that they have set up at both entrances," a council spokesman said.

"Mr Griffin, as one of the MEP candidates, will have to gain access to the town hall at some point for the count," it added.

The BNP has targeted the North West during the campaign.

It won one of its three English county council seats in Burnley in Thursday's elections.

The BNP is hoping to improve on its European performance in 2004 when it won just under 5% of the vote.

Congratulations to Andrew Brons !
And i am certain he will make the impact in the EU that is needed like tearing up the treaty in front of the EU parliament as a show of contempt.

I remember AB when he stood as a candidate in a bye election in the ward of stechford Birmingham as candidate, i and many others marched on that day through stechford and we marched with men boys and woman with baby in prams ,well try that now and we would be slaughtered ,How things have changed look at stechford now and it is spot the White face, well you can not!

How many votes did we get in the Euro election this time?

Last time it was over 800,000.

I saw that the BNP share of the vote was up from just under 5% last time to 7.5% this time.

Does that mean we got 1,200,000 votes?

Hope so.

Our vote this time was just 50k short of 1M.

With 2 MEP elected am I just being greedy if I say: 'It would have been great to make the big 1,000,000'.

On 7 June 2009, the Sunday Mail revealed that shamed banker Sir Fred Goodwin is a Scots gangster's cousin

Sir Fred Goodwin, former boss of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), is a cousin of 'one of Scotland’s most feared gangsters', 'ruthless crime kingpin' Grant Mackintosh.

The pair grew up less than a mile apart in Paisley, in Scotland.

Goodwin presided over the loss of £24.1billion while running RBS – the biggest loss in British corporate history.

Mackintosh’s uncle Archie was Goodwin’s grandad, making the pair cousins.

Mackintosh has been 'a leading figure in Scotland’s criminal underworld' for 25 years.

He is a convicted drugs baron and was at one time the biggest cannabis distributor in the country.

Mackintosh was a suspect in the gangland execution of John Hall and David McIntosh who were found dead in Larkhall, Lanarkshire, in 2001.

During Goodwin’s tenure, RBS became the world’s fifth-largest bank, and Goodwin became very rich indeed.

The notorious Ferguslie Park, in Paisley, where Goodwin grew up. (ukhousing.wikia.com/wiki/Ferguslie_P)

Sir Fred Goodwin was chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) from 2001 to 2008.

His mother was of German Jewish heritage. (Fred Goodwin - Wikipedia)

After University, he joined accountants Touche Ross.

Will the BNP now be reformed?

A end to arbitrary expulsions and finances everyone can accept.

If not where is the future in it? Sorry but you can't ignore basics just because two people get elected to powerless positions. Forgotten in a week when the talk radio circus has done it's PC job.

After the smear campaign of the last month by the media, how can anyone say that Nick or the BNP are state.
Only a Red or an idiot would.

Are you Nick Grifin ?

If NOT, how are you going to allow all those that have been expelled from the BNP back in ?

'After the smear campaign of the last month by the media, how can anyone say that Nick or the BNP are state.
Only a Red or an idiot would.'

Rather misses the point which is that the BNP makes a very convenient but powerless safety valve. A standard state procedure for dealing with dissent.

That can be arranged by allowing a suitable party sufficient publicity to be recognised as an 'official' protest vote. You don't have to directly control it.

Although who can doubt there are state agents within all the small parties.

A leadership challenge against Griffin will be near enough impossible for the foreseeable future. Lets see how he steers the party in the next few months? Will he be completely and utterly suduced by Brussels and the high living?

Plenty of muslim brainwashed nut jobs waiting for a reason to......

Thanks Chris Hill for the figure.

So, if we got 950,000 votes this time, the actual number of votes for the BNP has not risen much in the last 5 years.

Our % of the vote went up probably because fewer people voted, while our supporters still came out to vote.

If more people had voted, then probably we would have got the big one million.

Not such as great a success as I had hoped for.

This is an exact repeat of what happened when Derek Beackon was elected in the early 1990s. The media coverage is almost word for word identical.

The naive nationalists thought "We've done it! They'll have to listen to us now. Look at all the coverage".

Well they didn't and two MEPs will make no more difference than did a dozen UKIP ones four years ago. In UKIP's case the ineffectiveness of it caused their membership to collapse.

What is needed is what has always been needed. A party that looks serious and can attract enough capable people. The BNP is not run like that.

Griffin will be living in a mansion and people will still be trudging the streets for nothing imagining success is within their grasp.

A whiff of euphoria and brains go out the window.

There's only one word to describe someone so utterly sycophantic,short-sighted and who possesses such a short memory as you...

Idiot.

Old man Griffinstein will love to hear you saying things like that. He'll just be laughing at you and saying to himself, "Another idiotic BNP member who can't see through my lies. I must be so bloody clever to be able to hoodwink all thise people at the same time".

quote from the Times on line interview with mr griffin.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6459215.ece
---------------------------------
“We promised we would give 10 per cent of our wages to local community groups and if we made anything in expenses we would pledge to do the same with that. We will not be putting any money into the BNP but to local community groups to help them celebrate St George’s Day or promote a Christian Christmas.”
----------------------------------
Well, if the Times on Line has quoted Mr Griffin correctly ,we do seem to have a rather strange situation here. I thought that all BNP members who stood for election to well paid jobs had to sign an agreement to hand over a part of their earnings to the BNP to help it grow. Refusing to sign and hand over a substantial part of your earnings from your elected office ment that you would not be eligable for selection. If I remember correctly back in the Euro campaign of 2004 candidates had to agree to hand over fifty percent of their earnings (not a misally ten percent and to the BNP not community groups)if they were elected. When did the rules change? Now ,according to this quote, the BNP will not receive a penny from either of the two elected candidates.
(Going off on a tangent--how much has Mr Barnbrook donated from his wages as a London assembley member? Anyone with answers please post here.)
Perhaps a thinking BNP member would care to ask his/her leader some relevant questions on this matter.
I have this sickening feeling that a lot of well intentioned people have been well and truly suckered. Of course the membership will deny this and by doing so demonstrate ,I believe, the triumph of hope over objectivity.
Looks like politics as usual boys and girls.
Richard Chadfield
PS. How can you 'make anything in expenses'? I thought expenses were reembursement for costs that you had met in the discharge of your duties. Does the BNP 'leadership' have the same definition of expenses as commons MP's?

Anonymous said...

Richard, you make a good point, I've never seen Barnbrook name published by the Electoral Commission as a big donor. As usual it's all goes in Gri££in back pocket as he cooks the books. It will be interesting to see the next set of 'audited' BNP accounts, they are due soon in.
