A legal case about ethnic restrictions on the British National Party's membership is due in court later.
The Equalities and Human Rights Commission has issued proceedings against BNP leader Nick Griffin and two party officials.
It claims the party's policy of limiting its membership to "indigenous Caucasian" people is illegal.
The party has called the action a "pathetic attempt" by the commission to divert attention from its own problems.
According to the EHRC, the party's membership criteria appeared to be restricted to those within certain ethnic groups and to white people, which it says is contradictory to the Race Relations Act.
The BNP has said it intends to clarify the word "white" on its website and that the commission has brought the action "at the behest of the Labour Party".
The case will be heard at Central London County Court.

The Declaration sets out the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples, as well as their rights to culture, identity, language, employment, health, education and other issues. It also "emphasizes the rights of indigenous peoples to maintain and strengthen their own institutions, cultures and traditions, and to pursue their development in keeping with their own needs and aspirations". It "prohibits discrimination against indigenous peoples", and it "promotes their full and effective participation in all matters that concern them and their right to remain distinct and to pursue their own visions of economic and social development".

The BNP has destroyed its own constitution by allowing Jews to join.
Jews, like Mrs. Pat Richardson (nee, Felddman) might be Caucasian, but they are not indigenous.
Anyone who thinks Caucasian means white, as in Anglo-Saxon "white," needs to be better informed.

In the cold light of day:
Although I am in no way trying to condone Matt Single's disgraceful crime, I am trying to understand what drove this, once decent and honourable man, to do such an unfathomable act. He was at the time a father with a new born baby. Both he and his wife had been treated abysmally by Griffin, and had both lost their jobs as a result of simply doing the right thing (informing the grass-roots membership about Collett's madness). Sadie had made the cause (ie. the BNP) her life, working long hours for very little pay. She was a very well respected district councillor and extremely popular within the party. Griffin's disgraceful character assassination, and the illegal home invasion they endured, must have hurt her deeply.
But none of that excuses Mr Single's actions, which in fact helped Griffin, while putting the grassroots membership (who he had no problem with) in danger. Matt Single's actions were not the act of a rational human being; clearly he had had a breakdown. Unfortunately this seems to let Griffin off the hook, as he can now justify the December 2007 expulsions (many of the victims of which had no connection what so ever with the membership leak) by referencing an act that took place 12 months later.
Finally we should remember that Sadie Graham was not convicted of this crime, and has the right to the presumption of innocence. But be in no doubt I do totally condemn Matt Single for doing this. As I say: to try to understand those actions is not to condone them in anyway.

Currently in Brussels attending and supporting Nick´s first ENVI committee appearance. Naturally enough I would have preferred to be at home, but there are certain commitments it is simply unfair to break.
Hearing the news from London County Court this morning (technically this afternoon as they are one hour in front of us) there is obviously a lot I could say about the matter. However, I am under strict instruction not to say anything at all other than to say we have bought time. Time is an important thing.

For once Griffin is right, we have no option but to allow other races into the BNP. However I see no reason why a constitutional amendment to the affect that in order to vote in any internal matter a member must have attended at least 4 local meetings within the last 12 months, and be recorded as doing so.

BNP member Peter Tierney denies assaulting anti-fascist demonstrator
A WELL-KNOWN member of the British National Party has denied assaulting an anti-facist demonstrator on St George's Day.
Peter Tierney, 52, is charged with assaulting a protestor in St John's Lane near St George's Hall on April 23 this year.
He pleaded not guilty to the attack which allegedly left a man with a cut on the back of his head.
The protestors were said to have been handing out leaflets protesting against the BNP earlier that day.
Tierney, wearing a black suit, wore his long brown hair in a ponytail and his six-inch beard in a plait as he stood in the dock at Liverpool magistrates' court yesterday.
He pleaded not guilty to one charge of committing assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Demonstrators protesting against his party gathered outside the court building in Dale Street before the hearing.
Several police officers stood outside the court.
Tierney, of High Street, Hale Village, opted to have the matter dealt with at the crown court.The case will be committed to the crown court on October 29.

MUSLIM community leader who claimed he was kidnapped at knifepoint as part of a BNP hate campaign has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Noor Ramjanally said he was abducted by two men, bundled into a car boot, dumped in the middle of a forest and ordered to stop his religious work.

They have squandered thousands of pounds to obtain an adjournment necessitated only by their failure to prepare for the hearing on time, and instructing new counsel at 5 p.m. the day before the hearing. What utter idiots.

Point 1, Simon Darby is not spending members money in Brussels, he is being paid by the EU taxpayers (makes a refreshing change does it not?).
Point 2. Chris Hill shows his ignorance of the voting member system in his post about ethnics. Any new memeber black or white has to serve 2 years and be a proven activist to gain a vote at conference. Which was put in place for the very reason we are now facing. No black will get a vote for at least 2 years and thats if they are seroius enough to do the activist stuff, and if they are just joining to stir the shit they will fall foul of the members code of conduct and get themselves expelled anyway.
Worse case scenario we get 2 black voting members out of say 400 eligable.
