IMF Chief wants new Global currency

Head of IMF Proposes New Reserve Currency
IMF's Strauss-Kahn suggests IMF may one day provide global reserve asset

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund, suggested Friday the organization might one day be called on to provide countries with a global reserve currency that would serve as an alternative to the U.S. dollar.

"That day has not yet come, but I think it is intellectually healthy to explore these kinds of ideas now," he said in a speech on the future mandate of the 186-nation Washington-based lending organization.

Strauss-Kahn said such an asset could be similar to but distinctly different from the IMF's special drawing rights, or SDRs, the accounting unit that countries use to hold funds within the IMF. It is based on a basket of major currencies.

He said having other alternatives to the dollar "would limit the extent to which the international monetary system as a whole depends on the policies and conditions of a single, albeit dominant, country."
Strauss-Kahn, a former finance minister of France, said that during the recent global financial crisis, the dollar "played its role as a safe haven" asset, and the current international monetary system demonstrated resilience.

"The challenge ahead is to find ways to limit the tension arising from the high demand for precautionary reserves on the one hand and the narrow supply of reserves on the other," he said.
Several countries, including China and Russia, have called for an alternative to the dollar as a reserve currency and have suggested using the IMF's internal accounting unit.
Strauss-Kahn said the IMF also needs to do a better job of tracing how risk percolates through the global economy.

"Here it will be essential to improve our ability to monitor several dozen large complex financial institutions that make up the `plumbing' through which global capital flows," he said, while leaving national regulators the job of monitoring the solvency of individual institutions.

NWN: Just as we 'conspiracy freaks' have always told people, the bankers want a World currency and they have been working for years to that purpose. The New World Order has just clicked up a gear !

Secret Labour plan to increase immigration said public's opposition was 'racist'

Labour 'wanted social change', according to the new document

Labour encouraged mass immigration even though it knew that voters opposed it, Whitehall documents confirmed yesterday.

The Government said the public disagreed with immigration because of 'racism' and ministers were told to try to alter public attitudes.
The thinking on immigration among Labour leaders was set down in 2000 in a document prepared for the Cabinet Office and the Home Office, but the key passages were suppressed before it was published.
The paper was finally disclosed under freedom of information rules yesterday. It showed that ministers were advised that only the ill-educated and those who had never met a migrant were opposed to immigration.
They were also told that large-scale immigration would bring increases in crime, but they concealed these concerns from the public.
Sections of the paper, which underpinned Labour policies that admitted between two and three million immigrants to Britain in less than a decade, have already been made public.
These have showed that Labour aimed to use immigration not only for economic reasons but also to change the social make-up of the country.
Fuller details released yesterday showed that Tony Blair's ministers opened the doors to mass migration in knowledge of public opposition and with the view that those who disagreed with them were racists.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling has criticised the Government for not telling the truth about their immigration policies
Labour's accusation that opponents of immigration are racist has been dropped over the last two years as it has become clear that former Labour voters in party heartlands have been turning to the far right British National Party.
Ministers accept there is frustration at the loss of jobs to migrants and pressure on public services.
Yesterday Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: 'The Government has simply not been telling the truth about its policies on immigration.
IMMIGRATION CONTROLS RELAX
New controls on immigration are to be relaxed to allow companies to bring in the workers they want.
Trade Minister Mervyn Davies said yesterday that Labour's points-based system, aimed at allowing only the highest skilled workers into Britain, had had 'teething problems'.
He promised a 'slightly differently tailored system' for employees brought into the country by multinational companies.
The points-based system, introduced last year, was designed to ease concern over the impact of mass immigration of low-skilled and low-paid workers, particularly in traditional Labour-voting areas.
Success for the scheme is central to Labour's pledge that the population will not be allowed to reach 70million.
'More and more evidence is now emerging to show that they deliberately planned a big jump in immigration for their own political purposes.

'Now they are trying to rewrite history to pretend those decisions never happened. Their conduct over all of this has been a complete disgrace.'
Sir Andrew Green of the Migrationwatch pressure group said: 'This report confirms that ministers deliberately rode roughshod over public opinion in adopting a policy of mass immigration.
'They concealed their real intentions in the hope that they would benefit from the immigrant vote without losing their working class supporters. They are now paying the price.'
But Border and Immigration Minister Phil Woolas said: 'This report confirms there was no open door policy on migration.

'It makes quite clear that migration is not a substitute for Government policies on skills, education and training of British citizens, which the Government has invested in over the past decade.'
David Cameron promised yesterday to limit immigration to tens of thousands a year, a level last seen in the 1990s.

Armed police arrest EDL Leadership

International Civil Liberties Alliance 21 February 2010

On Saturday 20th February 2010 Members of the leadership team of the English Defence League were arrested as they traveled to Scotland to support the Scottish Defence League demonstration.

While in custody the team members homes and families homes were raided by police armed with automatic machine guns which terrified the leaderships family which included small children and other older family members. Computer equipment was seized during the 3 hour raid.

Leadership team members were banned from attending any meeting with more than 3 edl members then bailed to return to a police station in Sheffield in the near future.

We are asking every member of the EDL to be available to protest outside the police station when the team has to answer bail. (date to be confirmed).

We need to get the message across that we will not be silenced by being bullied by the authorities and our struggle against muslim extremism will continue.

We have agreed to cancel the Bradford demo as a small concession but will be announcing further protests as a result of the disgraceful treatment of our leadership team.

This is a call to mobilization.

We need every single person who supports the EDL to stand up and be counted and when required we need you to take to the streets in a peaceful and law abiding manner to support our leadership. More details will be released regarding demonstrations in the very near future.

If any EDL Members are arrested by the police please let EDL Media know as soon as possible as we are forming a group action and will be making an official complaint to the authorities in the near future.

Thank you in advance for your support.

300 Idiots vote to change BNP forever !

BNP Votes To Accept Non-Whites Into Party

6:14pm UK, Sunday February 14, 2010

The BNP has voted in favour of changing its whites-only membership policy to allow black and Asian people to join the far-right party.
Members have backed amending its constitution following an extraordinary general meeting in Essex.

The vote comes after the Central London County Court told the party to alter its constitution to comply with race relations laws or face legal action by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

After the hearing on January 28, the BNP sent letters to its 14,000 members in order to allow for the 14 days needed to alert them to the proposed changes.

Speaking after the vote, BNP leader Nick Griffin told Sky News: "Fundamentally we previously had an ethnic-specific membership policy - you had to be indigenous British to join.

"We've had a number of members of ethic minorities, very close to us, friendly with us, working with us, who weren't able to be members.

"That's been the rule for the party since 1982."

We're happy to accept anyone as a member, providing they agree with us that this country is and should remain fundamentally British.

BNP leader Nick Griffin

He said: "As of today, that's changed. Anyone can become a member of this party.

"We're happy to accept anyone as a member, providing they agree with us that this country is and should remain fundamentally British."

Mr Griffin said he was anticipating a "trickle, rather than a flood" of applications from black and Asian people.

He also said he expected to welcome the party's first non-white member, a Sikh called Rajinder Singh, soon.

He said: "I will be absolutely delighted to shake his hand and give him his membership card."

Mr Griffin went on to say he expected the party's new constitution would be presented to the commission by Tuesday.

It will then have a week to respond and both parties will return to court early next month.

A spokeswoman for the commission said: "We haven't yet seen what the changes are, but hope that the BNP's revised membership policy is no longer discriminatory."

NWN: Even Richard Edmonds included himself among the idiots and voted for the changes, siding once again with Griffin. Bob Gertner and Paul Ballard were believed to be two of a very brave handful who stood up to this sham.

'Every Hindu and Sikh should be praising the BNP'

This weekend the British National Party will vote on letting non-Caucasians join.

If the rules do change, Rajinder Singh, a Sikh, can't wait to become a member

by Jenny Kleeman

Rajinder Singh is flicking through the Pakistani channels on his Sky box from his sofa in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Dressed in a crimson turban, he sits a metre from the enormous screen, translating the odd phrase for my benefit. He's trying to show me why he's determined to join the British National Party -- the only party he considers "brave" enough to "break out of the burkha called political correctness".

Last year, the Equality and Human Rights Commission forced the BNP to change its constitution on the grounds that restricting membership to "indigenous Caucasians" broke the Race Relations Act. A new constitution is expected to be agreed at a party meeting this Sunday, and if it's amended both Singh and the BNP think he would be ideal as the party's first non-white recruit. Communications and campaigns officer Martin Wingfield has personally endorsed him on his blog, calling for the party to "adapt and survive and give the brave and loyal Rajinder Singh the honour of becoming the first ethnic minority member".

Singh is a 78-year-old Sikh, a retired primary school teacher and a father of two, who left India for the UK in 1967. He says he's been loyal to the BNP since he first heard BNP leader Nick Griffin on television in late 2001. "He used the word 'Islam'. And I thought, 'He's brave, he has conviction,'" Singh says. "I thought, 'It's amazing what you've said: I've always been thinking that, since my childhood.'" He wrote Griffin letters of support and eventually provided him with a character reference at his 2005 trial for inciting racial hatred. Singh has voted for the BNP in every local and general election since discovering them. "I couldn't keep away."

It feels strange to hear these words from a man in a turban, but Singh admits he's only wearing it for my -benefit. He's not a religious man and is clean shaven, but he wore a turban the first time he ever had "media exposure" -- on BNPTV, the party's online -channel -- and has decided to do so whenever speaking to the media because "the message carries more weight" coming from a turban-wearing Sikh.

His "message" is simple and depressingly familiar: he fears that Britain is becoming an Islamic republic, and Islam is dangerous. "Most of them behave very nicely, but suddenly when they get together in the mosque and listen to the preaching, they acquire a collective identity that is formidable. It's the collective being that frightens me."

Islamophobia is not uncommon among Hindu and Sikh immigrants, but Singh's personal history makes his all the more acute. Born in West Punjab in 1931, he witnessed the violence of Indian partition firsthand. Millions of Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims were killed during partition, his father among them, murdered when Singh was only 15. He lays the blame squarely with Muslims. Why doesn't he blame the British, the architects of partition? "Britain had a role to play," he concedes, "but the violence sprang from the Koran. The Muslim answer to reasoned argument is knife, dagger and bomb."

This thinking gives Singh an affinity with even the most diehard BNP members. He's been to several party meetings and says he never feels awkward in their company. "They treat me normally," he insists. "I feel at home." I ask if he thinks many BNP members can tell the difference between Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims. "They might think of me as a Paki," he replies. "I've had people shout 'Paki Go Home!' when I walk down the street. But that speaks much about the 'Paki' reputation -- it's a negative reaction to Pakistan."

When it comes to BNP policy, Singh knows what he'll be endorsing with his membership. He thinks voluntary repatriation in exchange for cash would be "something excellent, something supreme" because only those who are truly loyal to the UK would choose to stay here rather than take the money. When I ask about BNP plans to give "native Britons" preference in the job market, he says this has always been unofficially the case, and spelling it out in law won't make any real difference to the lives of people such as him.

Aren't the BNP racist, I ask? "Pre-amendment, yes," he replies. "They are trying to soften up. Shouldn't the nation welcome that? It's a positive move if they get people like me, and if I'm sitting in a BNP meeting they won't say 'Throw all of them out' because they'll realise one of 'them' is among 'us'." But the BNP were forced to extend their membership beyond "indigenous Caucasians", they didn't choose to. Surely they still feel the same about non-whites? "Initially the child is forced to go to school, then it becomes his habit, and then he voluntarily goes when he sees the point of it," says Singh.

Fellow Sikhs have shunned him, but Singh thinks they are misguided. "Every Hindu and Sikh comes from a country that was a victim of Islamic aggression," he says. "Every Hindu and Sikh should be praising the BNP and thanking God that something has appeared that may guarantee that this country is not overwhelmed."

The BNP are hungry for a more acceptable face, and they recognise Singh may be the perfect person to provide it: he's an articulate man with a readily exploitable, deep-seated bitterness. It's clear to me that they've used him whenever they've needed to appear legitimate -- at Griffin's trial, and now that they face legal action if they fail to change their constitution. "I may be being exploited," Singh says, "but there's a good underlying cause. They will be diluted." Then he smiles. "All parties use people. If they don't, they will fail."

.
NWN: This is what the BNP has been reduced to under Nick Griffins leadership .
We have to accept blokes like the picture above to survive, says Griffin.
Thankfully many members have had enough of Griffins plans to make the BNP multi-racial.
Thankfully many remember that over 5 years ago Griffin tried this before to force the BNP to become multi-racial via his lies.
The members forced him back then - they can do it again !
Vote against Griffins multiracial plan for the BNP this weekend !
Either that or join the National Front.

Nick Griffin & English Defence League delighted -Hindu wins Northumberland funeral pyre battle

Mr Ghai was refused a cremation permit by Newcastle City Council in 2006

A devout Hindu has won his bid for the right to be cremated on a traditional funeral pyre.

Davender Ghai, 71, was seeking to overturn a 2006 Newcastle City Council decision forbidding him from being cremated according to his beliefs.

Last year his challenge was dismissed by the High Court, but that ruling has been overturned at the Court of Appeal.

Judges decided the pyre would be lawful after Mr Ghai said it could include walls and a roof with an opening.

Today's verdict has breathed new life into an old man's dreams

In February 2006, the founder of the Anglo-Asian Friendship Society (AAFS), from Gosforth, Newcastle, was refused a permit for a cremation site in a remote part of Northumberland.

Newcastle City Council said the burning of human remains anywhere outside a crematorium was prohibited under the 1902 Cremation Act.

The Ministry of Justice, which opposed the appeal case, had backed the local authority's decision.

But the Court of Appeal judges accepted that Mr Ghai was willing to be cremated within existing rules with his funeral pyre "enclosed in a structure" and ruled that the Ministry of Justice definition of a building was too narrow.

Delivering the verdict, Master of the Rolls, Lord Neuberger, who headed the appeal panel, said: "Contrary to what everyone seems to have assumed below, and I am not saying it is anyone's fault, it seems to us that Mr Ghai's religious and personal beliefs as to how his remains should be cremated once he dies can be accommodated within current cremation legislation."

'Clarify law'

Mr Ghai said the ruling had "breathed new life into an old man's dreams".

He said: "I always maintained that I wanted to clarify the law, not disobey or disrespect it.

"The Court of Appeal understood my request was consistent with both the spirit and letter of the law and my only regret is that tax payers' money would have been saved had that been recognised in 2006.

"My request was often misinterpreted, leading many to believe I wanted a funeral pyre cremation in an open field, whereas I always accepted that buildings and permanent structures would be appropriate."

He added: "All the time I had complete faith that justice would be done. Now I can go in peace."

War criminal Tzipi Livni: I'm coming to Britain

Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni is planning to come to London to test the process for the issuing of arrest warrants for alleged war crimes.

Speaking exclusively to the JC, Ms Livni said: “I will do this not for me, not for provocation, but for the right of every Israeli to travel freely. I am not going to be restricted by extremists because I fought terror.”

The British system was, she said, “being abused by extremists for political reasons. Belgium and Spain have changed their laws, and the British know that they have to do so”.
NWN: The British Government must tremble, a top Zionist has spoken !
----------------------------------------------------
Haaretz reports that an arrest warrant for Livni was in fact issued for her role in last winter’s Israeli attack on Gaza. Although Livni’s office has said she canceled her appearance due to “a scheduling conflict,” they also said that “the opposition leader was proud of all the decisions she made as foreign minister during the Gaza war.”
-------------------------------------------------------

Gordon Brown calls Tzipi Livni to express regret at warrant

Gordon Brown telephoned Tzipi Livni, the former Israeli foreign minister, as he sought to defuse a diplomatic row with Israel.

Tzipi Livni, the former Israeli foreign minister, cancelled a visit to Britain amid reports pro-Palestinian activist groups sought a warrant for her arrest on alleged war crimes charges The prime minister expressed his regret over a warrant issued by a court in London over the weekend seeking her arrest in connection with war crimes charges in Gaza.
Mr Brown broke off from climate talks in Copenhagen to tell Mrs Livni that she was "most welcome in Britain any time."

According to a statement released by Mrs Livni's office, Mr Brown also promised to seek legislative changes to ensure no Israeli official would risk arrest while on British soil.
Mrs Livni replied by saying: "The situation must be repaired immediately".
NWN: Just shows who the real bosses are doesn't it ?
