New laws to name and shame banned hate preachers
Preachers of hate banned from entering Britain are to be named and shamed as part of tough new measures on extremists.
The Sunday Mirror has learned 230 people have been excluded from entering Britain since 2005 - but none have been publicly named by the authorities.
Hate preachers Omar Bakri Mohammed and Louis Farrakhan only became known about when they spoke out against the decisions.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is expected to announce the tough new measures this week. They are aimed at preventing anybody who stirs up religious or racial hatred from entering the UK.
The new rules will allow the Home Office to ban Islamic extremists, neo-Nazis... and even animal rights activists. Those named will also be put on international "watch lists".
Home Office chiefs hope sharing the intelligence will mean extremists are prevented from travelling to other Western countries.

Help the white working class or risk surge in far-Right extremists, says equalities chief
Britain risks a surge in Right-wing extremism if it fails to help its white working class weather the recession, the equalities chief will warn today.
Trevor Phillips will break with years of political convention to call for the law to be changed to enshrine positive discrimination in favour of disadvantaged whites.
His startling intervention in the race debate is a rebuke to Harriet Harman, who earlier this year trumpeted plans to make companies discriminate in favour of women and ethnic minorities.
Mr Phillips said ministers should allow councils and education authorities to introduce 'positive action' programmes aimed specifically at young whites unable to compete with highly skilled immigrants because the 'need is so great'.
And he warned that immigration has fuelled 'resentments that are real and should not be dismissed – resentments felt by white, black and Asian'.

The 'I am English' exhibition is an art work which celebrates the great creative people of England. From the modern contemporary perspective of a destructive, degraded and 'dumbed down' present time it wishes to inspire and look toward a creative and good future. Thus by association making these contemporary people heirs and to inspire them to a greater future than they have currently given to them.
The work takes the form of three interconnected pieces consisting a large screen video projection of the faces of English people making affirmative statements about them being English. These positive statements include what they like about England, what they like about being English and perhaps who it is their favourite role model from English History. Following this a 'hall of names', or hall of heroes, famous and creative people from the history of England and then the third part an inspirational space that looks to the future.

BBPA figures show 1.8 million less pints were sold in three months to September
Beer sales in pubs, bars and restaurants dropped 8.1 per cent between July and September year-on-year, new figures have revealed.
The British Beer & Pub Association’s quarterly Beer Barometer found that 161 million fewer pints were sold – 1.8 million less a day – compared to the same three-month period last year.
It is the biggest drop-off in sales in the third quarter of the year for a decade – and has prompted fresh calls for the government to abandon its beer duty escalator, announced in the Budget.
Total beer sales in the on-trade and off-trade are also down 7.2 per cent.
The off-trade has witnessed its first fall in sales since the second quarter of 2007, with a six per cent drop in the three-month period to September.
The BBPA claimed the Treasury was now facing a £1.2 billion tax shortfall, in real terms, over the next three years compared with its forecasts.
The trade group also estimates the Treasury has collected £138 million less in beer duty and VAT in the six months since the Budget.
In the year to September, beer sales fell by 4.4 per cent compared with the previous year. Sales in pubs, bars and restaurants are down nine per cent, while off-trade sales are up 2.1 per cent overall.
Rob Hayward, the BBPA’s chief executive, said: “The accelerating decline in beer sales is a clear sign of a worsening economy, worried households and weakening spending.
“Sinking beer sales and the record five pubs a day closing is a barometer of the UK economic climate. We’re busy responding to the economic challenges of today. But we need greater flexibility.
“Government needs to be looking to ease the constraints of the tax and regulatory burden on our sector. We’re not looking for a handout just a hand-up. They must abandon their current plans to increase beer taxes by a third through a new tax escalator.
"They should also pull back from their current alcohol policy agenda which would introduce even more regulation on how alcohol is produced and sold in Britain.”

Bank of England deputy governor Charlie Bean warned that the pain is just beginning, calling the situation the 'largest financial crisis of its kind in human history'.
On the 79th anniversary of the Great Crash of 1929:
• Britain's economic output slid 0.5 per cent - more than twice the decline expected by the City;
• Markets tumbled around the world, with leading UK shares losing almost £50billion;
• Sterling had its worst-ever week against the dollar since 1971 and hit a record low against the euro;
• The oil cartel Opec cut production, a move likely to increase petrol prices up to 5p a litre;
• Experts warned that hedge funds are facing disaster, with billions likely to be wiped off savings and pension funds;
• Hundreds of jobs were axed in the insurance, cosmetics, haulage and textile industries.
The plunge was prompted by the worst set of UK growth figures for 18 years, recording the first time that the economy has officially contracted since 1992.
The Office for National Statistics reported UK output dropping 0.5 per cent between July and September.
Another fall in the final three months of the year would propel Britain into the first official recession since the days of John Major.
Tory leader David Cameron declared: 'This is the day the recession became real.
'We have had ten years of a Government saying no more boom and bust. We have had ten years of a Government not putting aside money for a rainy day. Well, that rainy day has now come.'
At one stage, the pound was worth as little as $1.52, prompting speculation that the UK was on the brink of a currency crisis.
Although it later rallied, it has lost a quarter of its value against the dollar over the past year.
Foreign investors are less willing to finance the UK because of its record debt burden and slumping economic output. The rush to sell sterling means prices of imports like clothing and electronic goods will rise, holidays will cost more and overall living standards will suffer.
The Tories said sterling's decline proves Mr Brown has left Britain ill-equipped to face the banking crisis.
Shadow Chancellor George Osborne said: 'Once again, under Labour, the pound in your pocket is worth less. Indeed Gordon Brown has set a new record for Labour Governments, but it's not one he's likely to boast about.

LIBERTY IS INDIVISIBLE! Everyone must have the right to hold political views and hold down a job without the two contradicting the other.Political vetting is not part of the British culture (although it has/is part of others). We like it that way. Indeed many defenders of Liberty overseas use the experience of the U.K. as a model of how to tolerate other viewpoints.
Unfortunately, not everyone in the country believes in this tolerance. Members of the far-left in particular, are beginning to flex their muscles by calling the banning from various professions of those they dislike .At present left-wing members of the General Teaching Council (GTC) are threatening to convict a teacher of 'racial and religious intolerance'. They have charged this teacher (Adam Walker) with voicing his 'intolerance' via the Internet.
EXCUSE?
We believe however that the charge is a pre-textural excuse because Mr. Walker is known to be a member of the British National Party (BNP) and this probably accounts for why all his communications were monitored. Whatever ones opinions of the BNP are, Mr Walker should have every right to his political opinions and to join any (legal) political party. His views should be of no concern to the GTC. We, as a liberty organisation, have organised a demonstration in support of Mr. Walker entitled 'Make a noise for Freedom' outside the GTC Hearing on November 17th. The BNP, is more than happy to expel anyone whose opinion, or outlook, differs from their own. Sadly, this well deserved day of action for, Mr Walker, will be lost in the wreckage of all those thrown out of the BNP for having minds of their own.
