Bankers use their bully boys the Police !

-In 2014 £2.7 billion of the mortgage book was agreed to be sold to Commercial First, a consortium led by JP Morgan

Protesters clash with police as cancer patient is evicted from his home after eight-year battle with bank over mortgage payments

  • Tom Crawford’s supporters tried to stop bailiffs entering the 64-year-old’s home in Carlton, Nottinghamshire
  • Three people arrested as officers formed ‘ring of steel’ around property and tried to hold back 150 protesters
  • Police blocked off roads and put a cordon in place 650ft away from the property so bailiffs could repossess it
  • Repossession follows long dispute between Mr Crawford and Bradford and Bingley over mortgage repayments

A cancer patient was dramatically evicted from his bungalow today after an eight-year legal battle over mortgage repayments.
It was despite hundreds of Tom Crawford’s supporters trying to stop bailiffs entering the 64-year-old’s home in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.
Three people were arrested as officers formed a ‘ring of steel’ around the property and tried to hold back 150 protesters who turned up.
Police blocked off roads and put a cordon in place 650ft away from the property so bailiffs could repossess it without being obstructed.
But the crowd shouted at officers who held them back and trouble flared when protesters were wrestled to the ground and detained by police.

Mr Crawford, who lives with wife Sue, 55, had been in a battle since 2007 over his mortgage with Bradford and Bingley.
They claimed he still owed £43,000 in repayments, but he insists the figure is zero because they changed his mortgage terms without his knowledge.
The retired carpet fitter and father-of-three today vowed to take the three-bedroom property back from the bailiffs.
He said: ‘The bailiffs stormed the place. I am going to go back in, they are not going to stop me. We are going to take this place back.
‘There is absolutely no money. They are emptying it and repossessing it, but they are not going to beat me.’
Mr Crawford had twice stopped bailiffs from kicking him out of his home when supporters formed a blockade earlier this year and last July.

He had previously said he would ‘rather go to prison’ than give in to bailiffs and would have to be dragged away ‘kicking and screaming.’

One of Mr Crawford's supporters, Bob Porter, 40, of Hockley, said: ‘We’re here to protest against absolute injustice at the banking system, which is allowed to ride roughshod over the common man on his own land.
‘We would like to go Tom’s house for a cup of tea. But we can’t because the police are stopping us.
'This is a peaceful and civil protest. No one is trying to start a fight, we are here to stand up for an old fellow.’
Another supporter, John Place, 32, of Aspley, added: ‘Tom is a great man who helps other people facing eviction so it is about returning the favour.
‘He has been there for so many other people, so we want to repay him. There are a lot of heated feelings. We see this as inhumane.’
But one frightened neighbour, who did not want to be named, added: ‘It was all kicking off.
‘There were well over 100 police officers in the road and between 100 to 150 protesters with more arriving all the time.

Bob Porte, protester
‘I saw two women get arrested when they became aggressive towards police officers who formed a ring of steel which you usually see during riots.
‘I left pretty quickly because I thought I might get hurt if I stayed any longer.’
Last July more than 300 strangers stopped the family being evicted from their home after he begged for help on YouTube.
Bailiffs had to abandon plans to turf him out of the home, where he has lived for 27 years, again in January after a 500-strong crowd turned out.
Prostate cancer survivor Mr Crawford was joined by dozens of protesters on May 1 when he went to court to appeal against the possession order issued against his bungalow.
But later that month, Judge Nigel Godsmark QC ruled against Mr Crawford and refused him permission to appeal against a previous possession order issued against his home.

UK Asset Resolution Limited, the holding company acting on behalf of Bradford and Bingley, confirmed they had evicted Mr Crawford from the property.
Repossession is always viewed as a last resort and follows a series of forbearance options
UK Asset Resolution Limited spokesman
A spokeswoman said: ‘The Crawfords have been evicted from the property. Bailiffs were present at the property to enforce the possession order granted by the court.
‘Repossession is always viewed as a last resort and follows a series of forbearance options, with the aim of finding a solution that takes account of the customer’s specific circumstances.
‘Regrettably, in this instance, we have been unable to find a solution. The court has ruled that the Crawfords’ appeal did not have any prospects of success.
‘Bradford and Bingley has followed proper legal procedure and we have an enforceable possession order for the property.’
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police added: ‘A civil process was carried out at an address in Fearn Chase and we attended to prevent any breach of the peace.’
Bradford and Bingley was nationalised in 2008 during the financial crisis with the main banking section being sold to Abbey National while existing mortgages remained in public control. Mortgages are now collected by UK Asset Resolution Limited, which was set up by the Government.

LAST JULY: On another previous occasion, more than 200 strangers from across the country gathered to help save him from eviction

NWN: It is only a few months ago that the Police refused to get involved in this eviction. Morally, they didn't want to get involved at all.

Bradford & Bingley are now owned by a Government gang of crooks called UKAR/UK Asset resolution. These 'crooks' are just a large gang of debt collectors who use really heavy handed tactics. They usually employ non-Brtish stock to harass people. The Financial Ombudsmen service is getting overwhelmed by these crooks activities, and they are not impressed by their heavy handed methods.

Today, the Palace of Westminster is sinking - under the weight of its own corruption.

Mind how you go: Swiss railway posts signs explaining how to go to the toilet because 'Asian tourists don’t use them properly'

Diagrams apparently aimed at visitors from Southeast Asia and Middle East
They explain how one should sit on a loo seat, rather than squat
Also, they should put toilet paper into lavatory, rather than the bin
Signs are posted at Mount Rigi railway, Lake Lucerne

The 30 families have travelled from Monaco to Swansea, in south Wales, every summer for the past four years
Group broke a padlock to get their caravans onto the public land which is popular with picnickers and sports teams
Furious locals claim the illegal campers used a nearby footpath as a public toilet and littered the picturesque park
