BNP expects more arrests over leaked membership list

A COUNCILLOR who was kicked out of the BNP has been arrested in connection with the leaking of the party's membership list.
The Post understands Sadie Graham was one of two people arrested by Notts Police officers on Thursday.
A BNP spokesman has said he expects more arrests to be made in connection with the unauthorised publication of the list last month.
Simon Darby, press officer and member of the BNP, said: "News of the arrests was good because right from the onset we were under the impression that the police were taking it very seriously and were going to do something about it.

"I'm pleased because this is just the start. We expect other arrests as well.


"What people don't understand is that anybody that has been using the list, even newspapers, have been committing a criminal offence."
He added: "It is a shocking thing to do to publish the list.
"It's caused a lot of needless worry, anxiety and upset.
"We have had our privacy violated and published everywhere. We want justice for our members."
A police car with an officer inside was parked outside Ms Graham's home in Church Lane, Brinsley, last night.
Police were today sifting through boxes of evidence seized from her home.
Officers packed the boxes from Graham's terraced house into unmarked cars before leaving with a woman.
Coun Graham, now an independent nationalist at Broxtowe Borough Council, was dropped from the BNP in December last year.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed Powys Police said: "We can confirm that Notts Police arrested two people as part of a joint investigation with Dyfed Powys Police and the Information Commissioner's Office in conjunction with alleged criminal offences under the Data Protection Act. The arrests followed an investigation into a complaint received about the unauthorised release of the BNP party membership list."
The spokeswoman added that an army bomb disposal team was called to the address in Brinsley after a suspicious item was found. But the item was declared safe, with no further reaction required.
Dyfed Powys Police said today the two people arrested were granted police bail "pending further investigations" and were released last night.
Officers from Dyfed Powys Police and the Information Commissioner's officer are continuing the investigation.
The BNP membership list was published on an internet blog last month and was removed after complaints from the party. It featured more than 12,000 names including addresses, jobs and contact details.
The party has obtained an injunction banning the publication of the list. Coun Graham was unavailable for comment.

This is the blonde university graduate arrested on suspicion of leaking the British National Party membership list on the internet.

Sadie Graham, 29, a former councillor for the party, was one of two people held in connection with offences under the Data Protection Act.

The arrests at Ms Graham’s home came on Thursday as part of an investigation by the Information Commissioner’s office and the police.

Last month’s release of the party’s 13,500-strong membership list caused an uproar after thousands of people were identified as supporters of the far Right group, including serving police officers, members of the Armed Forces and even staff at Buckingham Palace.

Many were left fearing for their jobs and safety after the names of members were posted on the internet. Two weeks ago a car in West Yorkshire was fire-bombed. The name of a 26-year-old man who lived nearby was on the list, although he left the party last year.

It is believed that the second arrest was of Ms Graham’s husband of two months, Matthew Single, the BNP’s former head of security.

Ms Graham, a mother of one, and her husband were previously involved in a revolt at the top of the party which led to 60 members resigning last year.

The pair were accused of attempting to overthrow leader Nick Griffin while setting up an ‘anti-BNP smear blog’ attacking the failures of the party to progress electorally.

Following Ms Graham and Mr Single’s subsequent expulsion from the party, Nick Griffin obtained an injunction in April last year banning publication of a list of its members.

Ms Graham, a Nottingham University graduate, was named on the injunction along with her now husband and four other defendants including the party’s former head of administration Kenny Smith. The others named were Nicholla Smith, Stephen Blake and Ian Dawson.

On Friday police officers were seen taking boxes from Ms Graham’s and Mr Single’s terraced home in Brinsley, Nottinghamshire.

Ms Graham has already been targeted on the internet for her alleged leaking of the membership list. On YouTube a selection of pictures of her and allegations are displayed in a video to The Beatles song Sexy Sadie.

Ms Graham, now an independent councillor, used to be the BNP’s regional organiser for the East Midlands.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘Two people have been interviewed in conjunction with alleged criminal offences under the Data Protection Act relating to the complaint from the BNP about the release of their party membership list. They have now been bailed pending further investigations.’

A BNP spokesman said: ‘We are pleased that the police are taking this seriously.’

Tommy Williams 'CONVICTED DRUG DEALER' and disgrace to nationalism appears to be Nick Griffins latest attack dog for the spread of malicious lies and false propaganda.

Williams, owner of the disgusting C.U.N.T. blog, and issuer of death threats to women, is falling over himself along with Lee Barnes in an attempt to convince nationalists that Sadie Graham is guilty of leaking the BNP list. We know this to be a lie, and that Griffin is in fact using the leak to cause as much damage to his personal enemies as possible.

We ask all sensible people to stop and think about who gains from this leak. So far Griffin has gained via the cancellation of a court appearance that could have seen him lose thousands last week. The rebels had already WON the first two rounds against Griffin, Griffin didn't have the money for his solicitors fee to continue the action, but the leaked list has purchased him more time and bought in much needed money. We are told more than £50,000 was donated during the week after the leak.

We'll let the intelligent decide.

Many members have made it clear, that they intended to take out civil damages against all those that have been involved with this criminal act.This includes any organisations who have been involved in this in anyway, and that will include individuals who hold positions in any organisations who have played a part in all this, regardless if they were not directly a part of the unlawful leak.

POLICE investigating the leak of the BNP membership list arrested two people in Brinsley last night.

The item was decalred safe and no further action was needed.

The British National Party have sparked a new row by advertising Golliwog dolls for sale at its Christmas party.

A flyer sent out by the party this week advertising a Christmas quiz and social evening set to take place at Ore Community Centre in Old London Road on Monday night. Alongside the time and details of the festive bash was a line advertising a wide range of Golliwog merchandise on sale and it is this that has caused the most outrage.The dolls are seen by many as racist but in recent years have been used by the far-right as a symbol of political correctness gone mad. The term was first used in Florence Upton's 1895 book The Adventures of Two Dutch Dolls and subsequently picked up by Enid Blyton, who included a Golliwog in her Noddy books. Since then Golliwog has been seen by many as a derogatory term for a black person. Just last year a shop in Rye was criticised in The Observer for selling Golly dolls and the news the local BNP will be flogging the dolls alongside St George crosses, Union Jacks and BNP regalia has sparked a host of angry complaints. Chris Laverick, who recently organised a Love Music Hate Racism gig in Hastings, was one of many who was appalled. He said: "I understand the BNP is selling Golliwog dolls at there events. They clearly think that is amusing. That shows us that underneath their new image of suits and respectability there is still the racist and fascist thug that we remember from the 70's and 80's." Hastings MP Michael Foster was equally outraged. He said: "I am surprised a community centre is dealing with an extremist group such as the BNP. "What is more outrageous is the fact they are provocatively selling Golliwogs as a perfect Christmas gift." Councillor Jeremy Birch, also condemned the BNP. He said: "This just confirms that this is a racist organisation. "By selling these dolls as Christmas presents they are basically saying they are a party just for white people. "I am also disappointed that a community centre meant to be serving local people has agreed to let an extremist group use its facilities." A spokesman for the Ore Community Centre confirmed the BNP used the hall on a monthly basis, paying £15 an hour to do so, and that they "had never had any problems with them". However, the source added they would be holding a committee meeting to decide whether it was appropriate to let them continue to do so. Nick Prince, the leader of the local BNP, defended the decision to sell the dolls. He said they also sold Golly fridge magnets and a range of patriotic toys such as teddy bears with England flag t-shirts on.He said: "Golliwogs are traditional toys which pre-date teddy bears by five years."People have a choice whether or not to buy them. If they offend people then they should not buy one."There is huge demand for Golliwog toys. House prices fall at fastest rate in 25 years

British house prices tumbled at a record 16.1 per cent in November, marking the sharpest drop in property values for a quarter of a century.
Figures released this morning by Halifax revealed that prices fell 2.6 per cent in November compared to October, and are now 16.1 per cent lower than in November 2007.
The year-on-year decline is deeper than falls recorded during the last recession in the early 1990s, and is the biggest drop since 1983.
The shock fall has emerged just hours before the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Commitee is expected cut the interest rate again, after last month reducing borrowing costs by 1.5 per cent to 3 per cent.

Howard Archer, chief UK and European economist at IHS Global Insight, said: "Ongoing very tight credit conditions, still relatively stretched housing affordability on a number of measures, faster rising unemployment, muted income growth and widespread expectations that house prices form a powerful set of negative factors weighing down on the housing market."

The average price of a house in the UK is back to the July 2005 level of £163,445, but this is still 124 per cent higher - or £90,000 - than the figure in November 1998.

Mr Archer said Halifax's figures placed further, last-minute pressure on the Bank to deliver a large cut in rates today.

IHS Global Insight predicted that interest rates would fall as low as 0.5 per cent in the first half of New Year, and could be reduced even further.

But Mr Archer added that: "...it is highly questionable how much of further interest rate cuts by the Bank of England that mortgage lenders would pass on."

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Gleaming new Mercedes cars roll one by one out of a huge container ship here and onto a pier. Ordinarily the cars would be loaded on trucks within hours, destined for dealerships around the country. But these are not ordinary times.

For now, the port itself is the destination. Unwelcome by dealers and buyers, thousands of cars worth tens of millions of dollars are being warehoused on increasingly crowded port property.
And for the first time, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and Nissan have each asked to lease space from the port for these orphan vehicles. They are turning dozens of acres of the nation’s second-largest container port into a parking lot, creating a vivid picture of a paralyzed auto business and an economy in peril.

“This is one way to look at the economy,” Art Wong, a spokesman for the port, said of the cars. “And it scares you to death.”

The backlog at the port is just part of a broader rise in the nation’s inventories, which were up 5.5 percent in September from a year earlier, according to the Commerce Department. The car industry has been hurt particularly, with sales down nearly 15 percent this year. General Motors has said it would run out of operating cash by the end of the year if it does not receive a government bailout.

But the inventory glut in Long Beach is not limited to imported cars. There has also been a sharp drop in demand for the port’s single largest export: recycled cardboard and paper products.
