LEFT TARGETS VETERANS: ‘Stand Up To Racism’ Brands Veterans Protest ‘Far-Right’

Yesterday, veterans were protesting in York against the government’s mistreatment of Northern Ireland veterans.
Treason May plans a £150 million probe into Army shootings in Northern Ireland. Special Forces vets from the Troubles received a letter from the President of the Special Reconnaissance Regimental Association (SRRA) pointed to the continued “huge gulf” between “warm words” that come from the Prime Minister and the action taken.

In May, the Prime Minister said during Prime Ministers Questions: “The only people being investigated for these issues that happened in the past are those in our armed forces or those who served in law enforcement in Northern Ireland.”
However, the SRRA pointed out this is “patently unfair” as no terrorists are being investigated.
Mike Hookem MEP, UKIPs Deputy Leader, was invited to speak at the protest in York yesterday and this led to Stand Up To Racism, backed by the York Green Party, targeting the rally with a counterprotest.  According to Jane Carter, the organiser of the counter-protest, this; “alerted us to thinking this is just not about the purported aim of their march which is justice for veterans in Northern Ireland.”

Richard Inman, who was a British soldier who served in Northern Ireland from 1987-89, leader of the UK Freedom Movement, said that SUTR really need to “get their facts right” as the protest was purely about Northern Ireland veterans; These brave men and women put their lives on the line not just in Northern Ireland, in conflicts since the Second World War.
Mr Hookem added: There is no far-right here, these are all army veterans an I am the only politician here.
In general, it is a truly sinister move by the left to target veterans or any group which UKIP or groups like the Democratic Football Lads Alliance happen to support. The logic of their actions are increasingly totalitarian and yes indeed fascistic. It is quite clear that the political left is the single biggest threat to free speech that exists in Britain today.

South Africa farm seizures BEGIN: Chaos as first expropriation of white-owned farms starts

SOUTH AFRICA's government has begun seizing land from white farmers, targeting two game farms in the northern province of Limpopo after talks with the owners to buy the properties collapsed.

Johannesburg-based newspaper City Press reported owners Akkerland Boerdery wanted 200 million rand (£16.7m) for the land, but that the country’s government were willing to offer them just a tenth of that at 20 million rand (£1.67m).
A letter sent to the owners earlier this year had said: “Notice is hereby given that a terrain inspection will be held on the farms on April 5, 2018 at 10am in order to conduct an audit of the assets and a handover of the farm’s keys to the state.”
Akkerland Boerdery immediately took out an urgent injunction to prevent eviction until a court had ruled on the issue, but the Department of Rural Development and Land Affairs has refused the application.
Annelie Crosby, spokeswoman for the agricultural industry association AgriSA, told City Press: “What makes the Akkerland case unique is that they apparently were not given the opportunity to first dispute the claim in court, as the law requires.”

ANC spokesman ZiZi Kodwa refused to reveal details of the farms being targeted and has attempted to cal investor fears, adding the proposed seizures were “tied to addressing the injustices of the past”.
He told City Press: “Over time I think the markets as well as investors will appreciate that what we are doing is creating policy certainty and creating the conditions for future investment.”
Tensions among South Africa’s white farming community has been escalating since the election of Cyril Ramaphosa as President earlier the year, who committed his African National Congress (ANC) to land expropriation.
Last week, ANC chairman Gwede Mantashe sparked panic among the farming community when he said: “You shouldn’t own more than 25,000 acres of land.
“Therefore if you own more it should be taken without compensation.

“People who are privileged never give away privilege as a matter of a gift.
“And that is why we say, to give you the tools, revisit the constitution so that you have a legal tool to do it.”
A record number of white South African farmers have put their land up for sale amid fears the ruling party is considering confiscating properties bigger than 25,000 acres.
The government was accused of drawing up a list of almost 200 farms it allegedly wants to seize from white farmers, with AfriForum, a civil rights group representing the white Afrikaner minority, adding the document was being circulated by ministers as the ruling powers prepare to implement the policy.
It invited farmers to check if they were on it and urged them to make contact “so we can prepare a joint legal strategy”.

But the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform denied the list was real with spokeswoman Linda Page telling News24: “We don’t know where they got this from. There is no truth in this document.”
On Sunday, Afriforum CEO Ernest Roets confirmed that the two farms - Salaitna and Lukin - were the first two to be targeted.
He said: “So the debate about the authenticity of the list is settled then?
“We hope that the gravity of the state’s plans for expropriation is understood and that people will see through the dishonesty of the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development.
“We hope that the attempts to discredit the legitimacy of the list has now been proven to be malicious for good. We shouldn’t be misled by those who sing Kumbaya while the state is planning to expropriate property.”

AgriSA has labelled Afriforum’s decision to release the list as “irresponsible” and inflammatory” dying “cursory background research” showed several inaccuracies, including that a number of farmers were joint ventures co-owend by black people.
Earlier this month, cattle farmer Jo-an Engelbrecht told ABC that his farm just outside Johannesburg was now “worth zero”.
He said: “We had several auctions in the last two or three weeks cancelled because there was no people interested in buying the land.
“Why would you buy a farm to know the government’s going to take it?”

Salman Abedi was rescued from Libya by the Royal Navy before returning to the UK

Victims of the Manchester Arena attack last night demanded to know why the Royal Navy's rescue of the bomber from war-torn Libya was kept secret.

The Daily Mail revealed yesterday that HMS Enterprise plucked Salman Abedi, then 19, to safety as fighting intensified in August 2014.

He flew home to the UK, but less than three years later set off a shrapnel-filled suicide bomb at a pop concert in the city where he grew up – killing 22 people, including seven children. 

An independent review of MI5 and counter-terrorism police's contact with Abedi was published in December.

But the report by former terror watchdog David Anderson QC made no mention of the fact that Abedi and his brother, Hashem, 21, were among 100 British citizens evacuated by the Navy survey ship.

Last night politicians, survivors and lawyers representing the families of those killed in the atrocity attacked the Government for keeping the public 'in the dark' about the rescue.

They also demanded to know why the Abedis – British-born sons of Libyan migrants – had been allowed to visit the Middle Eastern state without apparent scrutiny and subsequently fell off the security services' radar.

Robby Potter, 48, who almost died in the attack after shrapnel from the bomb punctured his heart, told the Mail: 'The authorities have definitely hidden this information from us. They haven't been honest. 

'The Government should have told us straight away or it should have been in the reports. We have been left to find out through the Press.'

John Woodcock, the independent MP for Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, said: 'It is deeply concerning that the Royal Navy's role in extracting Salman Abedi has had to be uncovered by a media investigation rather than being volunteered by the British Government.

'In particular, David Anderson QC needs to explain why he did not include this in his report into the Manchester bombing – was he kept in the dark or did he choose to hide it from the public?

'Either way, this undermines the important role he had as Britain's independent reviewer of terror legislation.

'I believe the Navy acted perfectly properly in rescuing these British citizens but unnecessary secrecy leaves the unfortunate impression that the Government has something it wants to hide.' 

It is understood that the Ministry of Defence was the first Whitehall department to discover that Abedi had been rescued by the Royal Navy.

Abedi was already being monitored by the security services seven months before his rescue

His name emerged on passenger lists handed to the sailors on HMS Enterprise. The information was subsequently passed on to Number Ten, the Foreign Office and the Home Office.

Whitehall sources said that Abedi's rescue did not come to light in the Anderson report because it had no relevance to potential security failings.

But Elkan Abrahamson, a solicitor representing relatives of victims of the bombing for the forthcoming inquests, said: 'The trouble with the Anderson report is that we are not allowed to see the primary sources – that is, the MI5 or other security service documents.

'I am sure that the security services have not told us the full story. We may need an inquiry to get at the truth.'

He added: 'Both Abedi and his brother ought to have been tracked better, there are certainly concerns around that.'

The Daily Mail yesterday uncovered how Abedi was rescued by the Royal Navy from Libya

The Anderson report revealed that Abedi was already being monitored by the security services a full seven months before the rescue and that MI5 closed his file as a result of mistaken identify a month prior to his evacuation from Libya in 2014.

Senior security sources insist Abedi had not been radicalised at the time of the rescue and instead was brainwashed after watching bomb-making videos on the internet.

However, other sources have claimed that Abedi was seen on the front line, fighting alongside jihadis in Ajdabiya, eastern Libya. Survivors of the atrocity said it was difficult to understand why the Abedis were not detained or monitored following the rescue on their return to the UK.
